what would cause a tail/stop bulb to last a few days before it causes it to fail turning milky white and rupturing a bulb ?

Look inside the light assembly... It's likely the bulb is contacting something inside, may have a leak and moisture is getting in... OR ...the reflector may be loose .. I've had both problems with these vehicles!! .. Bulb can not touch anything or be wet at all...Look closely!!!.. Use 3157LL next time will help.....

short behind bulb in wiring/socket melted/terminals touching.....
