What is your question?
We bought it that way and its summer now, but its just hanging there. I was told at the dealer that I would have to have it glued in with special glue at an autoglass place at a cost of about $50. Unless the glue has gold in it, I don't want to pay that. Can I do it myself. I can even solder it if needed.

I soldered one on an Explorer and it worked great for me! ... Clean both surfaces good... Use low melt-temp. solder and a *high quality* soldering iron ... I put a bit on the terminal then soldered it back in place on the window grid. .. This requires a bit of common sense and basic skills with electronics repair .. I'm not aware of a glue that would work as it seems to me that would insulate the connection... Maybe it IS gold!
you can buy the repair kits a most auto parts stores for about 30 dollars. It is an epoxy glue with silver in it. With soldering it run run the risk of melting the thin copper foil tab, it doesn"t take much heat to destroy it.
