High rpms, problems shifting gears, burnt transmission fluid. It’s a 2015 Jeep Compass latitude with 53,000 miles. The dipstick tube tip is broken making it slightly shorter but according to mechanic it has no effect on the transmission. Two Mechanics advise not to change fluid or it will make transmission go completely out and also say dipstick tube would not cause the transmission to slip or burn fluid.

IF the transmission dip stick tube is broken and is now shorter that is should be - there is NO WAY to check transmission fluid level accurately.. This seems to me to be a very plausible reason for transmission malfunction! No this is not likely to be covered under any type of warranty.
