Why do my Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) & ESC Activation lights keep coming on?

2013 JEEP COMPASS FWD: Is there anyone who can explain what might be the reason for both the Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) Light and the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Activation/Malfunction Indicator Light to be on at the same time? Some months back, this was a problem as well. It lasted for a few weeks, then eventually the two lights finally went out and has not been a problem up until a few days ago (approximately 6-to-8 months later). Now both lights are on again and have been since Sunday of this week (four days). Is this a possible sensor fuse issue, or is it my brakes? Or something else? What would be the preferred order of precedence I should take as it pertains to troubleshooting this problem? Thanks!
