Dealer says default code P0456 requires replacing Evap. Vapor canister. Wants big bucks to change, I'm quite handy is it a DIY?

Sorry I don't have access to a workshop manual right now, I couldn't imagine it is that hard to change and then clear the codes. Around 2007 the canister was located near the left rear wheel, you took of the rear tire, a splash shield, and there were three bolts securing the canister to the body. There is a company that independent auto repair shops get their information from, this same information is available inexpensively for people that work on their own cars.. The information is year make and model specific, covering repair procedures, torque specifications, fluid capacities and specifications, service bulletins, component locations, wiring diagrams ect.... Alldata is very easy to navigate http://bit.ly/AllData_Repair_Manuals_Online But I would say you would figure it out just taking off the splash shield.
Thanks Patrick, I think I'll give it a try. I just didn't want to get in the hassle of pulling rear fascia at this time. I could do it but don't want to spend the time now. Thanks again for your advice.
Any luck? I have the same issue but with the 3.7L
you must have the Sport Model with the 3.7L..should be in the same place as Patrick said,2006-2010 should be the same. aftermarket canister is around $70.00 at local parts store...
