What is your question?
So my Jeep broke down on the interstate and was blowing white smoke out the exhaust and cut off on me. It was starting to get hot but was not overheating yet. It also drained all the coolant and water from radiator and a good amount of oil had leaked out from the top of the engine by the valve cover. When I diagnosed the problem I noticed twhere my #4 spark plug goes that there was no pressure blowing out or sucking in. After further analysis I saw that my #4 piston was completely destroyed and had a half dollar size hole in it. So I bough a new piston and cleaned the other 3 and also cleaned and resurfaced the holes the pistons sit in. I replaced the main bearing and the rod bearings. Cleaned entire engine by sections and replaced all gaskets. New oil filter, air filter, belt, pulleys, distributor cap, spark plugs and wires. Once I put everything back together and went to start the car the engine and everything else is rotating and moving, but the cars not turning over.

Unfortunately it will be impossible for anyone online to determine what has actually failed here. Furthermore - I really don’t understand what contributed to the engine coolant loss resulting from a damaged piston.. Further *hands-on* testing / evaluation will be required. Good luck!
You probably should state > engine ‘CRANKS’ ok but will not ‘START’ .. The term “will not turn over” is only confusing as it can be interpreted in many ways. Posting engine SIZE is always beneficial as well. Just trying to help out - for whatever it’s worth.
Just ignore the fact the coolant drained. But you really didn’t even help me with giving input to my question. I was looking for advice on my problem not how to word things properly. My cherokee is 2 wd 2.5 liter straight 4. I’m just trying to find out if the timing issue I mention would prevent my car from starting. Engine turns along with belts it just doesn’t fire up. It’s not the spark plugs, they all have spark and I’m assuming if the plugs have spark than it wouldn’t be my rotor in the distributor cap being bad right? I just need to know that if my timing chain tensioner being bad which seems like it’s causing my chain to be loose, if that would cause the problem I’m having with not being able to get the car to fire up?
Also not much more hands on evaluating can be done considering I took the engine apart piece by piece and replaced everything that needed to be replaced plus more. And since the car isn’t starting, it’s gotta be something minor or something I’m overlooking.
I’m just at a loss and this Jeep is A good vehicle and I’m just looking for some insight from people based on what they might know or have dealt with something similar perhaps.
Spark - - Fuel - - Compression What’s missing? I’ve been dealing with all kind of such problems during the 45 years of being in the business. Good luck!
