The vehicle's voltage gauge is not always an accurate indicator of batttery voltage. Checking the battery voltage with a voltmeter at the battery posts is the most accurate method. Checking connections and cables for voltage drops may also help you pinpoint a fault. If you purchased a rebuilt alternator, it may have an internal fault. Hope this helps. I recently change my alternator and battery and the volt light is still coming on, what should I do?
