The first thing to check when diagnosing an oil consumption issue (I.E oil in exhaust) is if the PCV system has been updated. There is a technical service bulletin that Saab released that addresses excessive oil leaks and oil consumption. If you need help in determining if this update has been performed, call Rempt Motor Company at (253)931-0500 and they will help you determine if it has been updated or not.
Question Answered: battery discharge
October 13, 2010, 03:18 PM
The vehicle's voltage gauge is not always an accurate indicator of batttery voltage. Checking the battery voltage with a voltmeter at the battery posts is the most accurate method. Checking connections and cables for voltage drops may also help you pinpoint a fault. If you purchased a rebuilt alternator, it may have an internal fault. Hope this helps. If you need futher assistance in diagnostics or quality parts at a low price, feel free to contact Rempt Motor Company at (253)931-0500 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
