Sometimes put car in reverse it will do nothing have to put back in park and then in reverse again for it to go into gear

This may be due to the shifting procedure as opposed to a transmission malfunction. When this ‘concern’ IS present - - Reverse lights illumination OR failure to illuminate will be an invaluable telltale for qualified personnel - which will be needed for *hands-on* evaluation. Good luck!
