What is your question?
The gear shift is stuck in park, I have already done the following, I have check underneath for a loose bracket...all is tight, pulled the cover from the shifter, there is not a gear shift unlock mechanism. Rock the vehicle back and forth. looked a various fuses that could been the culprit, no luck...unplug the battery for a computer reset, didn't work. I was driving fine, went and filled up at the gas station and it wouldn't release from park and had to tow home.

There is a shift interlock on your car, check brake switch, find the interlock and see why it is not working, maybe stuck, use some penetrating oil.
I have the shift cover off, do you have a picture or a diagram where the shift interlock is at? They are usually located on the left side of the shifter, I know where they are at on my two Hondas, but my 08 jaguar s type has a sport mode button in that place...I like to at least get the car into my garage and out of the street. Also my Jaguar is a 2008 not a 2003 that somehow is in the title
The shift interlock is inside the J gate assy, or shifter. The connector is, from what I see, on the inside bottom. Check power and ground, the ground is under front passengers seat.
I went to look at the vehicle and its now working, This is what I think could of happen...I took the car through the car wash yesterday, then to the gas station...I think something got grounded out. Could it be the sleeve that is on the side of the transmission with the wires that go into it, its the only thing that I can see that may have gotten wet and make the transmission inoperable. Since its working now, there is no way to figure out what went wrong but I don't need this to happen again especially if my wife and our three kids get stranded.
Not that I can see in the wiring diagram, it's all inside except for the computer data lines.
well it did it again, its stuck in park, at least the car is in the garage now....this is confusing me
Check the connections and the stoplight switch circuit.
Went back out to check that. everything begin to work again before checking. . Its a gremlin issue. still don't know the root cause but I am sure in the future, it will show its face again.
