why does my hood pop open while I'm driving?

What is your question?

I have a 2001 jaguar with 51000 miles, my hood keeps popping open while I am driving. The safety latch works but this is nor good. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and can you give me a remedy for the problem. James

What makes this problem better or worse?

Went I am going at high way speeds.

How long has your 2001 Jaguar S-Type had this problem?

You can try lubricating the hood latch assembly with a light machine oil .. Also - the hood release handle may need to be pushed back in - after it has been pulled out to release the hood. Otherwise - *hands-on* inspection will be required.
