What is your question?
ac turned on max and fan on max blows strong warm air. Clutch on compressor engages. Set V to appropriate temp, attached gage - needle went to red area. Per instructions I proceeded to recharge. Released and checked the pressure needle stayed in the red. I do not run the ac much as I do short 5 mile trips in stop and go traffic. For the last 3 years use the vehicle 20 miles a month. First time this year (April 2016 ) seemed less cold. Last time summer 2015 it was great.

Bring it to as shop and have it professionally (and correctly) evacuated and recharged. THEN , if needed , you can continue with diagnostics elsewhere .
Make sure A/C clutch is actually engaged and not just freewheeling. It has some charge in the system if the a/c clutch does engage but could be overcharged. Make sure fans at the rad run when the a/c clutch engages. Did you vacuum the system before charging and recharge by weight or use dash vent temp? Next check the orifice tube in the a/c line if you have one listed for your model for a plugged filter but you will have to evacuate the system to empty first. MOST IMPORTANT!!! Don't fill with any aftermarket cheap refrigerant that shows an explosive warning on the can!! It's usually flammable butane or propane in the can and NOT nice to have spraying on you in your car interior in an accident situation.
