Car won't start, has no spark, Replaced the crank sensor , need an idea next ?
What is your question?
Car was running, stopped, will crank over and sounds really fast cranking, but won't start. Had a mechanic look at it,Said that it wasn't the timing belt, replaced the crank sensor but still won't start. Going to try the ECM next, but does anyone have any better ideas on what it might be ??

Been looked at an was assured that the timing chain was moving and was ok by the mechanic that checked it. His next move was to try the ecm. Was going to get back to me to see if that was it. Wondering if there could be some other reason ?
I was also told the compression was good, had fuel pressure, but for some reason no fire to start the engine. Since the 1st possibility was the crank sensor, he tried that and now the second option was the ecm.
Hard to disagree with a mechanic that can actually test the vehicle! Usually ecm is the least likely suspect though!
Ignition module, 'crank angle' sensor,, not crank sensor, main relay and fuses/wiring can give some trouble but that has been checked already i am sure! Ecm is possible!! All i can do is guess at it....
Well, ecm was not the issue and now the mechanic has had enough and has aksed me to take it somewhere else. Guess that leaves me trying to figure out where to go next, Thanks for your information. Maybe you can suggest something else. I know he did not check any wiring possibilities other than the fuses.

That "really fast cranking" sure sounds like the engine is out of time! ASK the mechanic if the compression is ok!! Post his reply for more info...
