Remove starter - inspect flywheel for missing / damaged teeth. Rotate engine manually - try to crank.

IF starter engages after rotating engine manually - suspect damaged flywheel.. Inspect flywheel > 360° IF still no solution (flywheel ok 360°) >> *POSSIBLY* defective starter or wrong application. Good luck! https://repairpal.com/repair-shops/auto-repair-in-indianapolis-indiana
