I recently heard from an ex Infiniti service person that now works at a break shop that the massive deteriation of my dash with bubbles and holes is a factory defect. Anyone heard this?

Yes, Infiniti is recalling the FX35 with bubbles in the dashboard. But the car must be less than 8 years old. This is their email address, I wrote them myself and they answered me next day. You need your VIN #. infinitiusaconsumeraffairs@infiniti.com
I complained to dealer about dash material actually dissolving to the touch at hot temperatures. At first no help then I got a recall letter and the dash and money I spent to repair the original dash were made good. Got a new dash and it's been fine.
Call Chuck at Infiniti Consumer Service Center ( 615-725-7000 ) directly. He took care of replacing the dash on my FX35 even though it was 120 days past the warrant period. Chuck is the man!
Hi, i tried calling that number but its out of order do you know another number that i can reach Chuck at?
This had happened to me in 2010 and dealership promptly replaced it for free under warranty.Got lucky since it was my last year with warranty too.. I now use a Dashboard cover costing around $45 from autoanything just to be on the safe side as it reduces the temperature during hot days.
I LIVE IN TEXARKANA. IT GETS REALLY HOT HERE. MY DASH BOARD STARTEDBUBBLING UP AND I TOOK IT TO SEVERAL SHOPS. FINALLY I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. IT HAD BEEN A RECALL ON IT. I HAD A BROTHER IN LAW THAT TOLD ME HIS DID THE SAME THING ON HIS FX45. I THANK GOD FOR CONNECTIONS. I HATED LOOKING AT MY DASHBOARD.
No, I took mine in last July 2013 and was denied because mine was out of warranty as of May. I called and emailed to the consumer affairs many times since with the same results....Poor customer service, I will never buy another Infinity
