RepairPal Certified shops can diagnose and repair your 2012 Hyundai Tucson. They provide transparent pricing with a minimum 12-month or 12,000-mile warranty on repairs and services.
From Jeanie :Thank you for contacting Hyundai Motor America. We appreciate the opportunity to provide clarification regarding the warranty coverage of the engine in your 2012 Tucson GLS.
Upon review of your vehicle, we have found that there are currently no extended warranties for your Tucson, however, we did notice that Service Campaign 945 has yet to be completed. Hyundai is conducting a service campaign to apply rust-proofing materials to the front and rear underbody.
Your Hyundai dealer will treat the underbody with rust-proofing material to arrest the corrosion process. This will be performed at no cost to you. The actual time required to perform the procedure should be approximately one hour. However, your vehicle may be needed for a longer period of time depending on the dealer’s schedule; therefore, we recommend scheduling a service appointment to minimize inconvenience.
Although, your engine is not covered under warranty we recommend scheduling an appointment with your preferred Hyundai dealership if you are experiencing any concerns with your Tucson.
Warranty expired at 100,000 miles.... (10 years or 100,000 miles) .. That is the 'reason' it is not covered! ... I am supprised you were not told that to begin with..
That is unfortunate I'll agree .. Usually these vehicles run much longer than that - along with regular maintenance and the required scheduled services.
I have the maintenance records up to 58, 000 from car dealer when the previous owner had the car but none from there to when I purchased it in May 2017. I did the oil change when I bought it because I was unsure if there was routine maintenance consistently done on the vehicle. This issue has been difficult and quite expensive lesson.
Thank you for talking with me, I appreciate your input.
Call > 1 800 633 5151 .. Explain your situation.. Maybe you'll get to talk to the right person.. Also talk to place of purchase.. That's a tough situation but maybe you can get some help with it.. Good luck!
Driving 68, lost power - engine began to ping/whine, vehicle stopped
What was the 'reason' you were given it is not covered by warranty and who told you that?
