You want to convert a FWD to an AWD and all you have is a place on the dash for the switches... Is that what I'm reading?

no what i want to know is is it possible to add the Awd system to my car.I dont know if the AWD Unit would fit in the car to enable 4wd operation.One reason i,m curious is that the awd unit in a subaru forester is the size of a medium grapefruit(ive seen one)and in modern cars i,m sure they are able to add Awd differentials to front drive systems(with modification)This is why i mentioned switch covers.(i was,nt clear about that)sorry.Any help in this matter from a mechanic/service person is greatly appreciated,and i thank you sir for replying
