It’s a possibly - key interlock must recognize shifter has been placed in the park position.. **SOME-TIMES** a thorough cleaning of the shifter cavity will correct this issue - coffee - soda often gets spilled into shifter area and eventually becomes a viscous substance that can prevent the mechanical components from operating correctly.. Key word SOMETIMES .... *Hands-on* inspection / evaluation will be required. Now of course replacement of the shifter assembly will also correct this problem. Good luck!
