What is your question?
My wife's 2009 Hyundai Sonata is showing the P0011 & P0014 OBD. We took it to the dealer and the dealer is saying the remedy is to replace the engine at thousands of dollars. We took the car immediately after the light came on. The dealer says the warranty won't cover the repairs because we didn't take it in every 3,700 miles. We try to stay on top of the oil changes and change it every 3,500 miles or so. But occasionally we might slip and miss one and let it go a little longer. Other than the light, the engine runs good, no skipping, no stuttering, starts easily (none of the symptoms I should see according to OBD.COM. The car hasn't been using oil excessively. I've had engines go bad before and every time they've run like crap. I just can't believe as good as this engine is running, replacing the engine is the last resort to fix this problem. I'm willing to fork over the money to replace the engine if needed, but before I fork over that kind of money, is there anything I can try first to see if it remedies the problem before I pay a couple thousand for an engine replacement?

That's just the camshaft timing over advanced, I don't understand why the engine needs replaced. Get someplace for a second opinion.
Thanks. I took it to my regular mechanic. He said it's possible but thought a complete engine replacement seemed extreme to him especially since the engine was running ok. Since the car needed a oil change anyhow, he suggested changing the oil, resetting the obdc and see if that works. Seeing as to how we haven't got anything to lose, he's going to change the oil in the morn and we'll see.
That's a good idea, just a word, the oil journals are very small and the oil needs serviced very well to keep debris from forming, and cause you more trouble.
Thanks again. That's what my mechanic said. I'm going to have to make sure my wife keeps up wit the maintenance of her car.
