dealer suggested this service. only thing slight knocking when engine running and exhaust smell

There is no mileage recommendation on this service. If there are no driveability issues it is not necessary. I suggest putting BG 44K in your tank about every 30-50k miles and not worry about the induction service or its expense. Jim
I agree - they're simply trying to sell you a *service* that's unnecessary .. Refer to owners manual for required / recommended service / intervals.
Suggest another *hands-on* evaluation from ‘independent’ auto repair facility pertaining to the engine noise.
