Repair shop started out with just needing the ball joints to be replaced and an alignment to follow. Then they stated that it needs a new Left tie rod. And now they state that hyundai says that you cant replace just the ball joints and you have to replace the entire control arm, because the ball joints are inside. ( ive looked online and talked with parts stores and they state that the ball joints are simply bolt on and should need to buy control arms just for the ball joints.) And as far as the tie rods, they are not sure if they can replace the left outer or if it requires a new rack and pinion set up.
Im pretty sure im calling BS on the control arms. Not sure on the tie rods.
the car did have abnormal wear on the front tires.
So far they have not repaired anything on the vehicle, but have had it for 2 days to inspect it.

Take your car to another shop!!! An alignment shop...unless the control arm is damaged beyond use,, the ball joints themselves are replaceable,, so are the tie rods...ALL 4 of them..the 2 inner and the 2 outer!!!!
