What is your question?
I learned yesterday through a random check that my oil was completely empty. I did not have a light come up on my dash to indicate this though. Is there supposed to be one that comes up with this specific car?

Turn key on but do not start engine - should see an illuminated red light in the form of an old oil lantern = *Left side* of instrument cluster. Information is in the owners manual..
when you do what pushrod stated in his answer even if you find that the light is working, don't depend on that light. you should check your vehicle's engine oil at least once a month or more often even if it is a brand new vehicle.Honda's spec is using/burning up to one quart per 1000 miles.I bought a car a while ago and the guy said he was over 1000 miles on his oil change,so I asked him has he checked the oil and he said he didn't ever check it because you only change it every XXXX miles,WRONG ANSWER! I checked it and it was 2 quarts low,no light ever came on and the oil light works AND it only holds 3.8 quarts!
