I say it again... proper diagnosing will prevent buying parts you dont need. Bring to a qualified shop and replace only what is needed. How much money was saved doing this yourself? And if a shop did this... find another shop!
Alternator - Remfd - Premium, 90 Amp $ 165.60 /ea Does not include $38.50 core price Part Number: RAY 139516 Product Line: NAPA Power Supreme Electrical IMPORTANT INFO: w/ 4 Groove Pulley;w/ 90 Amp Alternator ***WHAT WAS INSTALLED ON YOUR CAR???***
Check fuses. The larger fuses in the fuse box. If all show good, check to make sure the alternator is getting power. Big wire on the alternator should light the test light.
With a multimeter, touch the black to black and red to red on battery. Note the reading. Now touch black to battery black and red to alternator red wire. If the reading is the same as the battery then they are connected and should be charging. If the reading is 0, you have a fried fusible link or a break in the line from the alternator to the battery. Have a nice Day! :)
Click on 'gary180' and read the rest of this story in the other '2' posted questions. Sure sounds like a 'low quality' alternator problem.... To me! Wonder if he'll be in as big a hurry to reply as he was to get an answer?
LOL! That always seems to be the way it goes...Now I also see from previous posts he had. Probable intermittent connection or.....crappy alternator!
Yeah, ain't no telling!
