What is your question?
2003 Hyundai Elantra GT 5 door: I had replaced the original Oxygen sensor cable with a NTK brand ($29.00) Oxygen sensor and the [Engine light] went on after the first road test. 1) Do I wait for the engine light to go off after the computer accepts it -or- 2) Buy an OEM or very higher priced Oxygen Sensor? **I heard the Oxyegn sensor is going to set the engine light on even if it is a Bosch, or good brand.....? **it took alot of work and BPBlaster to get the rusted heated heat cover off screw/bolts. Car runs really well, I don't want to place alot more time & money into it and may keep it another 2 years.

THANK YOU!! pushrod, I have found many fuse diagrams on the internet and I will get the EXACT fuse box under the hood. Most only show me the interior fuse box. It is Upstream and after I had loosened the original O2 sensor cable up and taken it off, the new one went on easily!! Too easy!! After I locate, find and change the exact fuse, do I need to place the original O2 sensor back first -or- find an OEM O2 sensor? Or keep the NTK/NGK new one?? You've helped a lot and don't have to anser my last question unless... you are bored. Mark
I'd stick with the new sensor! .. IF fuse fails again immediately, check wiring harness to the sensor for possible short to ground.
Yes, you were 100% correct!! Thank I had taken out the sensor fuse and it was blown/burnt out/ broken!! I had just replaced it and I am trying the car in a few days. I am in my work weekend/ overnight/ graveyard and will have Monday & Tuesday to try the car. Thank you again!!!!
Tuesday, July 25th, 2017: Today took the 2003 Hyundai Elantra Gt for a ride, the fuse didn't blow, FUSE is intact and perfect. But... the engine light is still on. 1) I was also told, 7/25/2017, maybe to take the car on the highway and get the heater wire to get to temperature and the engine light will go out. And or the computer will accept it.....? 2) Get my mechanic friend to turn the engine code off and wait and see if it goes back on. If so change the Oxygen Sensor....? Recent changes. 1) Replaced original Oxygen sensor 2 days ago and the fuse blew. Replaced fuse. 1A) Recently. 1 month ago, 6/2017, passed emissions test, got tags!! 2) There is a new catalytic converter, replaced 15 months ago. 3) I was told by a certified mechanic after an inspection, that the catalytic converter was turning blue......he said maybe try changing the oxygen sensor for starters. so i did and recently. Rest of inspection was great and no other concerns. **I need the car for work reasons and until I find another, but if if my problem is fixed, then I'm good....... **I'm looking for the RepairPal experienced mechanics for quick answers or approvals and ideas. Thank you ALL!!!
Hi Pushrod, thank you for your time and reply. Code is P0032, P0032, P0032 ----3 of the same codes. There is a newer catalytic converter I had installed 2 years ago, so I had a recent "Full" inspection and the mechanic said the catalytic converter is "blue" and I may want to change the Oxygen sensor. Soo after weeks of loosening the heat cover, I finally changed the Oxygen sensor last week, 7/16/2017. I was able to drive it today. The engine light went on, so I went and got the codes. The car stalled and won't start. I had placed the original oxygen sensor back and it still won't start. I had repaired laptops and computers for years and I like to change the old parts and fix my own car when I can and if I can.
Well you just might be in luck! .. This POO32 code indicates a 02 sensor 'heater circuit' fault .. The most likely cause is a blown fuse in the under hood fuse/relay box .. Look for a fuse marked 02 htr or the like, owners manual usually helpful when searching for fuse locations and functions .. Full index is in back of book .. See > FUSES... I prefer 'TESTING' all of the fuses with key on - using a 12 volt test light, takes about 5 minutes ! .. Since you're familiar with electronics .. Fuse testing procedure using a test light should be self explanatory... Volt meter will do the job, just takes longer I think.
