Key stuck in ignition

Shifter must be in PARK position before key can be removed from lock cylinder... Coffee - soda spilled into shifter cavity over the years can disrupt the shifter / ignition lockout mechanism. Through cleaning of mechanism down inside shifter cavity may fix problem. However if a mechanical failure is present it will require more extensive repair. In any event it is recommended to have this problem evaluated *hands-on* by qualified personnel at local auto repair facility. Good luck!
