Check for the presence of fuel in the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line, If none, then it is more than likely a bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor!
I replaced the map sensor. It solved the issue of poor acceleration but I still have erratic idle until it warms up. no cel as of yet. No signs of fuel in the vacuum.
there are several things that may cause this.vaccum leaks, idle air control valve stopped up with carbon, needs cleaned or replaced.very common honda issue.throttle body dirty/sticking.clogged pcv valve, evap leak, but maybe not.try the simple things first.i would check for vaccum leaks first, then pcv valve, then remove iac valve and check for carbon build up.it has 2 coolant lines and 1 electrical connector, and 2 bolts.screen gets plugged with carbon, can't breath.if its never been off, wont hurt to check it.worm gear inside should be white in color, but most likely its black.if cleaning it,remove the little black rubber gasket, before you clean with throttle body cleaner or carb.cleaner.if you leave it on while cleaning,it dont like cleaner.also carefull with little screen, dont poke holes in it.spray out good, till black crud gone.don't hold it so cleaner can run into electrical connector.let it dry and reinstall, don't forget to put gasket back on.google this part # and you'll see picture of it.AC447,its pricey,so carefull when cleaning.$208.00 plus tax,if you buy new.good luck.post findings.
Replaced PCV valve and cleaned screen on the IAC it was pretty black like you said. we'll see what happens in the morning when it's cold. I'll post the results. Thanks for your help!

You wouldn't happen to know where I could find a vacuum hose routing diagram? One of the previous owners has capped off some vacuum ports.
