No lights came on for over a hundred and ninety-five miles, now I got a code PO 420 Bank One. Can someone please help me understand what the hell is going on and what needs to be replaced I live on a very bad fixed income... disabled you name it I got it. I just need some really good advice on what to do before I have to take it to a damn mechanic though I work on cars all my life but they get harder and harder everyday. This means your catalytic converter is not working efficiently. This could be because of a bad CAT or a bad o2 sensor. If you want to roll the dice you could replace the rear o2 sensors but I suggest getting it inspected and diagnosed before spending any money. Use this link to find a good shop near you. https://repairpal.com/repair-shops Alex
IF upstream O2 AND downstream O2 are readings are same - cat is depleted .. It's as simple as that! Scan tool with live sensor data will be required for testing.
