What is your question?
Installed new radiator, hoses, thermostat and it overheats.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Idling

So - the replacement parts did not solve the original overheating problem.. IF the replacement thermostat did not have the required vent to allow air to escape when refilling the system- OR - the vent WAS present but t-stat was not set in the correct clock position - that may be your problem.. Only you will know! SOMETIMES removing the top radiator hose FROM THE RADIATOR and pouring coolant in from there will purge air from a BOTTOM hose thermostat system. Do not know your skill level - you may need *hands-on* assistance from qualified personnel. Good luck!
I'd go for the air purging first -- and the question would be -- what testing was performed to condemn the thermostat and radiator? When does the overheating occur?
I see > “What seems to make the problem better or worse? Idling” .. Typically a cooling fan malfunction - ‘IF’ idling makes the problem ‘worse’ (?) However as usual, I guess we’ll never know.
