Overheating
What is your question?
Temperature gauge goes high and than causes engine light to turn on. Heat also does not work and smells hot.

The engine cooling system is malfunctioning and needs to be checked immediately

I would suggest , unless there is physical damage to the radiator , that the thermostat is done FIRST , and TEST for possible blown head gasket. How many miles on the engine?
