can drilling a screw into a fender snap the cable of the oddessy sliding door?

my fender was loose. I brought the car to a local patch up repair shop. They drilled a screw through the fender into the frame of the car. When i got home the sliding door did not work and the cables were snapped and sticking out of the car. is this there fault? Thanks
