What is your question?
If I juggle the modes and the temperature settings some times it starts to work fine

The system is most likely low no refrigerant. Will need to be evacuated , vacuumed down and re-charged with dye (so we can check for leaks). COMMON symptom. ....One other question , have you ever had to jump-start the van?
I did not have to jump start the van but sometimes it does not start immediately in the morning. I went to the dealer with my problem. He re-charged the dye and did not find any leaks. He could not fix the problem.
IF you paid for DIAGNOSIS and all they did was a simple evac-vac-recharge , as I mentioned , IF it was done properly and system pressure is good ,and the condition you described is still present , then they did NOT complete the diagnosis! I would bring it back.//////////////re-read your original question. Don't see it often at the dealership , but the control panel has a 'self-diagnostic mode' and also the dealership can perform certain function tests with their scanner (HDS) , to verify a blend door motor error.
