Can changing the transmission fluid ruin transmission?

If sure can. If the van had high mileage and the fluid had not been replaced in a long time, that will usually do it. Plus, Honda did not put a great transmission in that van to begin with.

Transmission fluid drain and refill only, OR was it flushed?... Was 'Honda' fluid used to refill??
