What is your question?
The computer works when accessed manually. Wire from A/c compressor was cut due to an accident. Wire now reattached but get no signal. Result is the compressor has to work twice as hard, drains gas, shorts out. Needs signal from computer. How though?

Could you describe what you mean by 'computer works when accessed manually' ?? Are you using a scan-tool with Honda software to operate the clutch? What else was damaged and repaired or replaced due to the collision? Do the condenser fans operate properly? What is 'static' pressure of A/C system? IF you can't answer that last question accurately , then stop until you can.
me personally, I'm not using anything to access the computer manually. I went to an auto electrics specialist that I trust. He said he's taken me as far as it can go and I need to go to the dealer and have them either reboot or reprogram the computer. Yes, condenser fans operate fine. And, I don't know what else was replaced due to the collision. I know that the a/c compressor is having to work twice as fast to function. I posted the question because I'm an auto illiterate and every single Honda dealership in the LA area has the worst yelp reviews I have ever seen so I'm trying to "know" a little more when I go in. Thank you for the response btw.
What was the extent of the damage? was the condenser, radiator and fan assemblies replaced? Any wire harness damage? Sorry , but not knowing that , makes it hard to even come close to a reasonable guess. IF it ends up being wire/harness damage , that requires some dis-assembly and 'pin' tests , I would at least say up to 2 hours for diagnostic , may be reasonable. After that , I would expect a very detailed report of exactly what they did. I know this may sound silly , but did your electrical specialist ever check the system with manifold gauges to be certain it was properly charged?? NEVER ASSUME !!!
So, I went to Honda Dealership - told them the signal from the computer to the AC compressor was dead. They ran their diagnostics, told me the signal from computer to the AC compressor was dead - charged me $120 and said I should replace the AC harness for $1600. I asked if that was guaranteed to fix the problem, they said no. My electrics guy showed me this morning that the AC harness is fine. There's just that one ground - no power problem on that one wire. I asked him to check with the manifold gauges, he did, ok. The condenser, radiator and fan assemblies were not replaced and are not broken. It's just that one stupid dead wire from the MICU to the A/C compressor. Thanks for all your feedback. UPDATE: So after all that stress and cost my A/C is now working fine. The solution was two small parts costing less than $20 each. And the problem is apparently a "known issue" with many Honda a/c systems - just not known to Diamond Honda dealership in Glendale. So the issue was a short somewhere that stopped the computer signal to the compressor. The short turned out to be behind the actual button you press on the dash to activate a/c. The one with the little green on and off light. That switch assembly was broken and cost 20 bucks to replace. That gave me power at setting 4 - with settings 1, 2 and 3 dead. dead because they work off a different fuse set - so I had to buy another part - the resistor (to go under the glove compartment) - also about $20 bucks. So, as advised by non Honda techs - compressor, condensor, computer and harness were ALL fine - just needed those small replacement parts. Honda Dealer Service center refused to put in the parts, saying they stick by their original diagnostic that I needed a new a/c harness for $1500. I did not, but I am still out of pocket for $600 for all the effort it took to locate the problem. Hopefully, this thread will inspire others to check those two little parts when they have the same problem. Audrey
