What is your question?
to replace it at a cost of $2306 of which $1836 was the cost of the catalytic converter. It has 178K miles on it and hasn't had the timing belt changed. I think that is a horrific price. Is it a fair price for this repair?

the only thing i can say is to get away from that idiot dealer.no,no,and no.research your parts at napa,az,adv,orly,pep-boys.im not going to tell you how much a direct fit will cost you.i want you to look and see.call a local trusted muffler shop and ask them if you bring your own parts, how much labor it will be.call several places.call your friends, kin folk,co-workers and see where they go.goto autozone.com,click add vehicle, put all your info in,and click on emissions control and exaust.then click on cat.converter, then you will see.your honda has a timing chain, not belt.look that up to.myself and others on here like napa parts better than the other after market autoparts chains.napa has good stuff.but look up on any of them if you like to see what dealer is trying, thats their job.good luck.
