What is your question?
2003 honda crv goes into limp mode then check engine light comes on. Pop hood check oil and stick is bone dry. No oil warning lamp ever came on way before oil service date and mile. Is that a bad switch or something else.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Oil change a couple of thousand miles before
How long has your 2003 Honda CR-V had this problem?
3 years of owning vehicle

Even though the dip stick doesn’t indicate it there is SOME oil in the engine - warning light works off of oil PRESSURE not oil level.. IF the light turns on turn engine OFF immediately.
Of course this doesn’t explain why oil level was low - that requires further *hands-on* investigation. (Add oil as needed until repairs are made)
