I haven't had an accident, ever. Will the honda co just hope nothing will ever happen and it will escape responsibility for all these recall problems?

They may send notifications to the original owner or last address on file. You can call your local Honda dealer, give them the VIN number and they will tell you if there are any available campaigns. We do this for regularly for customers at our shop.
If you call Customer Service for American Honda Motors and give them your VIN number they can update the owner on record so that you receive those notices in the future. If you service your vehicle at the dealer it is the responsibility of the dealership to check for outstanding recalls. Not all independent repair shops have access to recall information. Its a great service if you have an independent repair shop that does that for you. If you're not receiving notices it doesn't mean Honda is trying to avoid you it just means that they don't have your current contact info. AND.. just because your local Honda dealership has your information doesn't mean the manufacturer does. This is typically updated when a warranty claim is made. Since a 2002 model Honda has been out of warranty for 8+ years it's probably been a long time since the record has been updated with the factory. It's typically the responsibility of the owner to make sure records are kept current.
