needed 2nd cat/ changed cat light came back/ now changed o2 sensor/ light back on code p0420 cat efficciency bank 1 ?????????? I am out of patience.... wires all look good and no exhaust leaks exh manifold and first cat was changed last year (was cracked)
AFTERMARKET CAT / HONDA HAS THE CAT LISTED FOR APPROX $1300 JUST FOR THE PART NOT LABOR (BECAUSE THEY CAN) I CAN'T AFFORD THAT AND I FELT LIKE THAT WOULD BE HIGHWAY ROBBERY........ SO I WENT TO A LOCAL EXHAUST SHOP AND HAD THEM REPLACE WITH AN AFTERMARKET CAT............ I ALSO SPOKE WITH THE LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP TODAY ABOUT BRINGING IN THE CAR TO "REFLASH" THE "PCM" ? WILL HAVE THAT DONE LATER THIS WEEK. KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED THAT THAT MIGHT HELP.....
Brought car to Honda service department this week and they said they were not aware of any program update or PCM problem that could cause this issue.... But a technician I knew who worked there plugged in his diagnostic tool to check for codes and "reflashed" system and said there was something that updated in software....... Now a few days later and a few hundred miles later codes have not returned and state has passed emissions inspection...... It appears that there was a problem with the computer software but Honda will not admit it??????? What a system !!!!!! George Orwell"s "BIG BROTHER" is hiding in our cars watching us also.........(1984 anyone) ***** update july 17 2014 check engine light just came back on again / same codes again / i give up
