How do I open the hood on my 2002 civic? The latch at the hood is the problem.

Have a helper lift up on the hood while you pull release... After you do get it open.... lube the latch assembly...

That can be somewhat tough as it's a very tight area to work within. If you can have some one pull on the latch & you push on the hood right at the latch area that may be enough to get it to pop open. Otherwise it's best to be able to get the vehicle on a hoist to see if there is enough room to get your arm up to the latch from the bottom and by pulling on the cable in hopes the latch will release
