What is your question?
Mines an 2002 Hx. Checked relays, fuses , wires, control switch. The underdash multiplex unit in fusebox went bad and took the ac out, dome light, power door locks, etc. He took to shop and they replaced thermosensor on compressor. Did'nt fix it. But I did when I put the used fusebox in. Fixed all the problems. And now this. Shorted thermosensor will make fans run, but engaged ac clutch??? It's pointing towards the PCM I'm thinking

IF all wiring is still intact , then monitoring with Honda scanner for PCM command , is best way to verify. It is PCM controlled circuit. Thermal protector is normally closed (shorted , as you say) , it 'opens' (like a blown fuse) when it detects compressor overheating. Also pressure relief valve would allow freon to 'blow-off' , when high pressure side gets to high.IF you decide to try a used PCM , check the part numbers to make sure they match up!! HONDA parts dept. should be able to help.IF you change the PCM , the immobilizer may need to be re-programmed, or car won't start.
The PCM is a 37820-PMP-L05. My car is a 5-speed. Do I have to have one with that exact number? I know an automatic one will not work. Not many HX's around for parts.I understand that a 04-05 EX and 01-03 HX have the same compatible wideband o2 sensor. Are the PCM's interchangeable??? If it indeed is a faulty PCM, should I bite the bullet and get it from Honda $$$.$$ ???? Thank you very much for the help!
IF you can find a used one, before you buy it call a Honda parts dept. and ask if it interchanges.
Bought a new under dash fuse box, took the one out I replaced a year ago....it was for a 4 door Sedan. Honda said they were not compatible. Put new one it....still had the problem. Took it to dealer. He went step by step to try to find the ground....even swapped PCM's . He knew something was up and called HONDA, who admitted yes the diagram was not in their manual. So they sent it to him. It was the climate temp control assy.... the only part that I didn't swap out. The circuit board in it was fried. They wanted $414.00 for one, but I found a used one for $40.00 . It fixed it. As I drove home from dealer, I noticed it was running sorta hot. The lower radiator hose was cold. Replaced the thermostat....now all is good. It even runs better! I made photos of defective part....wish I knew how to send them. I'm sure this info will help someone else out. I appreciate the help.
Hi, I have the same problem with my 2008 accord. The compressor kicks in few seconds after ignition and does not respond to the AC switch. Also the radiator and condenser fans start as soon as key is turned to ignition II position. What was wrong with yours and part did you change? A picture of the part would be great. Thanks. utsav22@hotmail.com
Mine ended up being the fan speed/thermostat unit. 0n my Civic, the assembly has 3 knobs..... one that controls where the air comes out (vents, floor, both and defrost) , one that turns fan on/off (three speeds), and the third one controls the temperature ....colder (blue) and warmer (red). My fan switch worked normally..... when I unplugged that assembly, the fans and a/c compressor stopped. I took the thing apart, I found that the circuit board inside was fried in one area....the short was VERY visible. Hope this helps you figure yours out.
