Try this - next time it cranks but no-start.....watch the check engine light as you turn the key to the 'run' (NOT crank) position (hopefully in quiet area) and listen carefully for a 'click' at the same time as the 'check engine' light goes OUT. IF you don't hear a click , try again to verify , and if still no click , wait a few (10-15) minutes and try again , if you hear the click this time , crank it & see if it starts. IF it starts , replace the main relay (under dash follow ignition switch harness). IF still no click and no start , check for proper voltage to relay with key in run position.post results .
Check fuel injectors also could be a main switch intermittently malfunctioning
would need to know if not cranking over or cranking and not starting. possible starter issue if not cranking. you say starter good so I assume it is cranking. rec have it checked and hopefully concern can be duplicated
Cranks but turns off then wait a few minute then starts with no problem. I took it to a shop he asks to leave ot overnight of course when I took it there it started with no issue. What would ur advice be to start looking at.
yeah, that happens a lot. problem is there are a few things to give you start and stall or no start issues. best to catch it when happening but there are ignition switch issues, fuse box issues, the main relay as someone else suggested or the possibility it is something else. is the engine light on and if so, did it come on when starting issue started happening?
the maimtanance required light would go off after oil change, engine light would be on when computer senses a problem. in any case, sound like your light and starting issue have nothing to do with each other. I would suggest trying once again to have someone look at it. perhsps a smaller shop with less workload, less cars to deal with etc..
I had similar issues after replacing my thermostat, on the thermostat housing there is a small ground wire that if it is left off (or corroded and falling apart with ages as mine was) wont start, my vehicle would start intermititly as you have described and all I had to do was replace the end of this wire and the problem was fixed, just a sudjestion, its easy and simple to check this with a jumper wire to a good ground. best of luck.
Ok thanks
