Last year Honda replaced the passinger seatback cover pad and light went out. the code was 86-22 on the test.Honda covered it under the warranty. Now the light is back on.A different Honda dealer says code 86-22 comes up again.they want to replace ODS unit and SRS unit for $1200.Could this be a faulty seat back cover pad again.Or could it be a seatbelt issue. Thanks

First , since it's the same code as before , did you already bring it back to the original dealer for possible warranty work? Seat belt would be 60-XX code or 09-03/04 code at least for buckle switch. May be a harness/connector issue , also. Do you have ANY aftermarket wiring/accessories installed in the car?? Does the car have 'lo-jack' installed??? I've seen many cases of them using an inappropriate wire for their power supply , causing mysterious codes.
HI, I would check your receipts from the earlier repairs carefully, and return to the first dealer, if possible. There is not enough info here for me to help much more than that. Ward Jennings, W. Jennings Co.
I'm on vacation in Florida and don't want to drive home with the light on. I bought the car new and their are no modifications on it.Its never been in a accident or under water. It's a clean car kept in a garage.
uh.....yeah , stay in Fla. right now!!!! Keep receipts.Get it fixed.
That's the plan. The problem is that Honda is killing me in $$$$ while they try to figure it out! Any recalls that you know about?
None YET , on the 2012s. I'll give you one hint- dealer diagnosis for that code/seat issue , should take NO MORE than 1 hour!! IF they try to charge you more , ask them for DETAILS of what was done and ask for references/print-outs from the on-line american honda website Dealer/tech only , but they CAN print the diagnostic instructions. Honda no longer uses 'hard' books/service manuals , it's all on computer. They have step-by-step diagnostic trees for almost everything!
5 days after having car. They say it's the original problem, the seat back sensor! After they replaced the OPDS unit and the SRS unit. $1800.After complaining they only charged for labor $568.Their is a problem with the passenger seat back sensor in this year accord. Called Honda USA and documented everything. Waiting for callback. Of course Delray Honda is saying it's my fault and that I must be doing something to the seat back since it happened twice. But I know I didn't do anything so it must be the part or design is flawed. What do you think?
