Certain components can deteriorate over time (age) and fail, even though visual inspection shows nothing unusual. Timing belts are completely different construction than an accessory component ‘drive belt’ and are recommended to be replaced whether they ‘look bad’ or not, at 7 years OR 105,000 miles. Curious question, although this question was posted quite a while ago, IF on a vehicle driven so few miles in 7 or so years, have you replaced the tires yet? I wouldn’t be surprised if they had great tread life left but are dry-rotted and splitting due to age also.
