Airbag sensor recall on 2006 honda accord, light came on dash on way to honda dealer. Replaced sensor light still on. Dealer said it would cost $75 to diagnose, but it sounded like a problem that could involve hundreds of dollar. Trying to find some way to reset light on dash.

The recall is only for the airbag 'inflator' NOTHING ELSE in the system. Light (SRS) is NOT affected by the inflator , if you still have the recall notice read it again! It explains why in that. IF the SRS light is on , and has been on for a while , then you should get it DIAGNOSED properly and repaired. A common fault code stored is '09-3' 'open or increased resistance in drivers seat belt BUCKLE switch'. May also come up as 61-10 or 09-4/61-11 for pass side. Some dealerships will still cover that under a 'lifetime warranty' NOT all!! Check with your dealer first , and if that is the cause of the light , the diagnosis fee should be waived. Good luck.
Thanks, will call dealership, I'm sure they will still charge. Any way to rest codes, if their is a problem it would come back on.
like I stated in my first response , the SRS light on is un-related to the inflator recall , so unless it is covered by Honda with a 'limited lifetime warranty' , why should any place not charge for services??? I GAVE you the codes to watch for , get them read at an aftermarket shop(less$$ than a dealer?) and make your choice about repair. IF they get codes other than the ones I mentioned , start a new post with those SPECIFIC DTCs and I'll see what else I can offer. Good luck!!
