What is your question?
2005 Honda Accord LX (coupe). I cannot open my driver's door from the inside. I have to roll down my power windows and stick my hand outside to open the door to get out. Started having this problem 2 weeks ago. Car is in really good condition and stays service and just now is at 100,000 miles. Wanted to know what do I need to get it fixed and the cost? Thank you,

Hello, I repaired this issue for my father in law last night, funny enough. The handle is connected to the door lock actuator (which is the entire latch assembly/lock) by a cable. Normally, the cable is not the issue, but the door lock actuator is damaged internally. Especially if you hear ratcheting sounds when locking the door with the power lock button, I would immediately suspect the door lock actuator. Without looking at it, I would fulle expect this to be the issue, and with a 2005 model, the part should be economically priced. You may find one with the entire assembly: door handle, door lock switch, lock assembly, cables. That would be certain to correct the issue.
If you come on by we can look at it and repair it. We see these all the time. Jeff
Thank you so much. Honda Dealer wanted to charge $115 just to diagnosis the problem. Tires Plus is charging $45 to look at it. I am a women so wanted a heads up before they just tell me anything. Again, thank you.
No problem at all. Feel free to ask about the estimate if you feel it is incorrect, and make sure to get a second opinion in that case.
