Why does my car shudder at idle when the AC is on? It smooths out when driving.

What is your question?

The shudder is felt and seen strongly through the steering wheel and sounds like the engine is laboring when at idle with the AC on. When driving it smooths out and it also runs smooth at idle when the AC is off. Any ideas how to diagnose this further?

What makes this problem better or worse?

everything is smooth while driving or if AC is off, but with AC on and stopped its vibrating

Engine / transmission mounts need to be closely inspected .. Not unusual for these mounts to be worn - especially given the year model and suspected mileage on your vehicle.
