Anti-theft radio code

2002 Honda Accord Ex V6 sedan. Automatic. Mileage 119,000. One owner and properly maintained. Need to enter the Anti- Theft radio code after accidentally draining the battery by not properly closing a door overnight. Auto Club came and very quickly said my battery did not need replacing and he recharged it. I believe I've followed the instructions, but have not been successful. Is there some little secret ?
