Check Engine light comes on, but goes off when I turn off the car and restart it

Just means the fault that the car's computer is seeing goes away at times. When you turn the key off the computer puts the fault in history codes and does not turn the light on until its sees that specfic fault once again. Need to have fault codes read to find out what is causing issue.
