Cruise control stopped working. I put new one in and now the lights are on?

What is your question?

I just put in a new brake pedal switch for my 2007 Chevy Silverado. I completed the task and started it up. The brake lights are on and it chimes when I drive. I thought emergency brake was on, but it is not. Not sure what's going on. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What makes this problem better or worse?

It does it all the time now
