What is your question?
I have a 2004 GMC Yukon SLT V8 5.3L, Just recently I replaced the fuel pump, due to it not starting and having poor fuel pressure. now its sputtering while driving. when driving all of a sudden it will starts sputtering, and I loose rmps and speed. At one point I couldn't get my speed over 10-15mphs and rmps wouldn't go over 2000. I was able to get it to the nearest part store, and when they checked to codes one came up for the mass air flow sensor. bought a new one and changed it right then, after that it was running fine, no sputter, no problem getting up to speed. drove it home, it ran fine. then went for a drive and it started sputtering and loosing rmps, and speed. it sound like it randomly backfires when I hammer on the gas after it starts sputtering. recently I have replaced: Mass Air Flow sensor Camshaft sensor Fuel pump U-Joint Alternator Battery battery bolts (side post) I am having thoughts about it being the catalytic converter, but not completely sure.
What makes this problem better or worse?
it was better for a little while after the maf sensor was changed then started doing it again
How long has your 2004 GMC Yukon had this problem?
a few weeks

Make certain the big tube from air cleaner to intake is not cracked and is securely fastened. May have unmetered air flow into engine bypassing MAF. Otherwise I strongly recommend a professional scan test - not for codes - for pertinent live data and parameters. All you got from the parts store is some parts counter personnel using a code reader - not acceptable - but they did sell you a part didn’t they.
