Ignition problem spark at coil but not to the plugs

NOT ENOUGH SPARK FROM COIL!! At 40.000 volts - spark from coil should easily jump a 1 inch air gap to metal ground. Suspect failing ignition coil. Assuming you have coil wire placed in distributor cap at correct position. Good luck!
